Nach meinen letzten Projekten im 48er Maßstab wollte ich diesmal wieder etwas für den schnellen Erfolg.
Academy sollte mich mit diesem Bausatz nicht entäuschen.

Die Passgenauigkeit war gigantisch und der spaß am Bau war durch das ganze Projekt gegeben.
Als Fan von Sonderlackierungen war für mich klar, dass es die 1995er Chippy Ho der VFA-195 Dambusters werden musste.
Die historisch korrekte Darstellung war für mich hierbei zweitrangig, doch was heißt das genau?

Eigentlich ging es um die GBU 12 Paveway ( Guided Bomb Unit 12, Paveway = „Den Weg ebnen) Waren doch die Maschinen um 1995 nicht für 2 GBU´s pro Seite ausgelegt,sondern nur jeweils eine pro Pylon.

Die 2er Aufhängung pro Seite gabs erst ca. 2003, aber ich würde dies als künstlerische Freiheit bezeichnen da diese F-18 mit sämtlichen Außenlasten viel mehr hermacht.

Grundsätzlich wurde die Maschine aus der Box gebaut, lediglich beim Schleudersitz bediente ich mich bei Quickboost.

Lackiert wurde das Modell mit Farben von Gunze, Ammo of MIG, Revell und Alclad (Polished Aluminium, Exhaust Mainfold und Hotmetal Blue)

Für die Alterung gabs diesmal eine Mischung von MIG´s Cold gray und Dark wash.

After my last projects in the 48er scale I wanted this time again something for the quick success. Academy should not disappoint me with this kit. The fit was gigantic and the fun  was given by the whole project. As a fan of special paints, it was clear to me that it would be the 1995 Chippy Ho of the VFA-195 Dambusters. The historically correct presentation was of secondary importance to me, but what does that mean exactly? Actually, it was about the GBU Paveway 12 (Guided Bomb Unit 12, paveway = „paving the way) were the machines around 1995 not designed for 2 GBU per page, but only one per pylon. The 2-seater suspension per side was only around 2003, but I would call this artistic freedom because this F-18 with all external loads much hardens. Basically, the machine was built out of the box, except for the ejection seat, I used in Quickboost. The model was painted with Gunze, Ammo of MIG, Revell and Alclad (Polished Aluminum, Exhaust Mainfold and Hotmetal Blue) colors. For the aging gabs this time a mix of MIG’s Cold gray and Dark wash.
